Her journey began across two continents, spending her early school years in Ireland before moving to Chennai. But no matter where life took her, one thing never changed: her deep bond with animals. That devotion led her to veterinary school in Pondicherry in 2007, followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Medicine from TANUVAS in Namakkal in 2015.
Over the past nine years, Dr. Poornima has honed her skills in small animal care at trusted institutions like JP Pet Speciality Hospital and the Blue Cross of India. Those years on the clinic floor taught her something vital: medicine is only half the picture. The other half is empathy. To her, every patient is an individual with their own personality, fears, and quirks. She knows that when a pet is sick, the humans who love them are anxious too — so taking the time to listen, explain, and comfort is just as crucial as writing a prescription.
Her long-held dream was always to build a space where veterinary care felt gentle, personal, and uncompromising in quality. In April 2026, that dream came to life with the opening of her own clinic. It’s a haven built on a simple promise: every wag, purr, and nervous paw deserves to be met with dignity, patience, and warmth.
At home, Dr. Poornima’s family of seven includes two dogs and two cats, so she understands firsthand the joy — and the worry — that comes with loving a pet. When you walk into her clinic, you aren’t just bringing in an animal; you’re bringing in a family member, and they’ll always be cared for like one.
